Frequently asked questions

How does Custom Couture compare to "off the rack" gowns?

Price- Comparable without the added expense of alterations, as our gowns are made to fit you like a glove in every way. Quality- Our fabrics are sourced from the highest quality suppliers of silks and man-made fabrics. They are also individually sewn with each unique bride in mind, not mass produced for a "one size fits all" body. Timing- Dresses can be completed in 4-6 month (sometimes less). Ready to wear dresses require 9-12 months lead time when ordering. Originality- No gown will be made twice, nor do we "knock off" or "copy" other designers gowns. Your MRD gown will be the only one of its kind. Just like you!

Can I change dress sizes during the process?

Of course. I will let you know the point at which you will need to maintain your size, typically a month before finish date.

If I have a picture of a dress that I like, will you copy it?

At our initial consultation you will bring many pictures and ideas of things that you are inspired by. We use these as suggestions and visual references for your final design. We will NOT "knock off" another designer's work. If there is a dress that you love that exists already, you should buy it! :)

Can I bring a friend or family member along to my fittings?

Absolutely! This is a very exciting process that is only made more fun when shared with loved ones. We recommend one or maybe two people who's opinions you trust and value. If you want their input, we recommend inviting them to the 2nd fitting, when the dress is in it's middle stages.

Do you provide "Day of" services?

Sometimes it is helpful to have someone who "knows the dress" help you put it on. I am happy to come and make sure you look perfect. From the bustle to the bridesmaids, you want everything to go smoothly. I can provide that peace of mind.

If I already have a dress can you alter it to fit me?

Of course. I provide alteration services of premade gowns. Contact me for consult appointments and time frame.
